ALMA, Mich. - Alma College volleyball remains perfect, downing Kalamazoo College in three games (30-19, 30-8, 30-18) Tuesday (Oct. 26). The Scots are 27-0 on the season and carry a perfect 15-0 league record. The team remains the only undefeated team in the nation as the only other unbeatens, CSU-Hayward (26-2) and New York University (31-3) have suffered defeats in the past week.
In the first meeting this season, K'zoo took the Scots to five games - the only team to do so this season. Alma has been taken more than three games on only eight occasions all year. The Scots responded to the Hornets' challenge with a vengeance Tuesday, allowing the Orange and Black to score no more than 19 points in any game and holding them to just eight in the second game, the fewest points the Scots have allowed in a full-length match all year.
Seniors Kerri and Kristin Judson (Frankenmuth, Mich.) led the Scots on the night as Kerri paced the team with 15 kills and 23 attacks, including four service aces and 17 digs. Kristin Judson posted 12 kills and 29 atttacks, one service ace and four digs, including one block assist.
Lindsey Baker (Chelsea, Mich.) recorded 47 assists and four service aces to go along with one block solo and one block assist.
The Scots wrap up regular season action when they face second-place Calvin College (20-7, 13-1 MIAA) Friday in Grand Rapids. The team will also participate in the Midwest Challenge Oct. 29-30 in Grand Rapids.
