ALMA, Mich. - The Alma College volleyball team remains unbeaten after defeating St. Mary's in MIAA play Wednesday (Oct. 20) in Cappaert Gymnasium in Alma. The Scots defeated the Belles in three games (30-20, 30-10, 30-19) as Alma standout Erin Fralick (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey) led all Scots with 14 kills. Lindsey Baker (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea), this week�s MIAA Specialty Player of the Week, and Kelsee Krull (Midland, Mich./Dow) paced Alma with 13 digs and four service aces, respectively.
"We played very good defense and we had a solid night attacking the ball," said head coach Steve Humm. "Our serving was very good. Lindsey Baker did a nice job setting the ball and Kelsee Krull really stepped her game up tonight."
The Belles were paced by junior Michelle Turley with 11 kills and Anne Cusack with 12 digs. With the loss, St. Mary's drops to 5-12 overall and 5-9 in league play.
With the victory, Alma remains perfect on the season with a record of 25-0, 13-0 in MIAA play. Currently ranked 20th in the country, Alma hits the road to face Albion at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
