Volleyball Sweeps Waynesburg To Split Weekend In Pennsylvania

 
WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Alma College volleyball program were dominant in its opening match of the Saturday slate, holding the Yellow Jackets of Waynesburg to ten or less points in two-of-three sets for its first sweep of the year, but were unable to carry that momentum into its next contest against Meredith.

    • Mallorie Nevadomski came into the match with seven career service aces and more than doubled that total by the end of the sweep, knocking down eight (2.67 p/s) of the Scots' 15 aces compared to the Yellow Jackets' four.
    • Rudy Maynard made sure to get in on the serving fun, also notching a career-best with four aces (1.33 p/s) in addition to her usual setter duties (16 assists / 5.33 p/s).
    • Emily Carling (8, 2.67 p/s) and Nevea Bush (7, 2.33 p/s) were the primary killers despite only playing two sets each while Maren DeBeau averaged 4.33 digs per set (13 total) on top of a surprise kill for the 5-foot-3 Freshman.
  • Meredith
    • Maynard recorded Alma's first double-double of the campaign in the tournament finale, logging 19 assists (6.33 p/s) and 11 digs (3.67 p/s), both stats leading the box score, the latter a personal-best.
    • Nevea Bush was a threat every time she swung with 13 kills (4.33 p/s) to go along with a .296 hitting percentage and Mackenzie Siko sent four attempts hurtling back to the floor with a quartet of blocks (1.33 p/s), one as a solo participant.
