Berea, Ohio – The Alma College football program had a difficult day in Berea versus (RV) Baldwin Wallace as Scots signal callers were sacked eight times in a 42-17 setback.

How It Happened:
The Yellow Jackets took their first two drives of the afternoon in for touchdowns including a 15-play, 71-yarder to open the day, taking up just over seven minutes in the first quarter. The Scots punted in their opening three possessions with Alma having a pair of those drives resulting in negative yardage.
 
The visitors from The Mitten finally got on the board with about five-plus minutes left until halftime when Jason Boge took the quarterback keeper and plunged across the goal line to make it 14-7. BW answered right back on the following drive with seven points of their own, but Jace Heck booted a 30-yard field goal through the uprights with 41 seconds remaining to trim the deficit to 21-10 at the break.
 
Baldwin Wallace found paydirt two more times in the third quarter to put some distance between the two sides and make the score 35-10, but a 16-yard pitch-and-catch from Boge to Ethan Hull gave the Scots some life with 3:38 in the third.
 
AC received the ball received the ball to open the final frame and needed a touchdown to keep its comeback hopes alive, unfortunately, a 52-yard pick-six by the Yellow Jackets' Donnie Oesch put those thoughts to rest as that ended up being the final score of the ballgame with BW prevailing, 42-17.
 
Scots' Top Performers:
Hull has become the primary pass catcher in his first three games since transferring from Michigan Tech, scoring in both road games so far and leading the Scots in receiving yards at 72 over three catches (24.0 YPC). Jason Boge averaged 14.6 yards per completion en route to a career-high 205 through the air plus 23 rushing, reaching the end zone twice (one passing, one rushing). Braylon McDonald has become a receiving threat out of the backfield as his lone reception went for a personal-best 35-yards while Sam Couch hauled in the most balls at four for 35 yards.
 
Reed Seabase led all tacklers on either side by tying his career-best of eight, making five solo stops, and Joe Debski also raised his tackle benchmark to five. Gaige Towner and Keegan Bey took down the Baldwin Wallace QB for sacks, Towner's coming in his collegiate debut and Bey being his first full sack of 2026. Other defensive notables included the first TFLs of Nathan Sanders, Emilio Riley, and Drake Koepke's time at Alma plus Aiden Klein breaking up a pass.
 
On special teams, Jeb Brown gave the offense superb field position in the second quarter as he blocked a punt to which BW fell on it at their own 23. Elsewhere, TJ Seiler made the most of his chance for a kickoff return, bringing the pigskin back a career-long of 42 yards. Will Soulliere belted a pair of touchbacks in three kickoffs, Heck connected on a 30-yard field goal, and Jacob Kluk had one of his punts downed inside the 20.

All the team's goals are still sitting right in front of them as the Scots control their own destiny moving forward, starting with (RV) Adrian to kickoff MIAA action on Saturday at 2 p.m. for Homecoming.
