CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Qualifying for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III National Championship bracket, Alma College men's wrestling's heavyweight Cayden Bell became the first Scot to compete in the National Tournament brackets since 2019 when All-Americans Brendan Ladd '20 and Zachary Cooper '20 both qualified. Bell finished his tournament with an 0-2 record and overall season with an 11-8 record.
Bell opened his tournament with a bout against Coe College sophomore, Wyatt Smith in the championship preliminary round. Bell opened the match with a take down to tally the first three points. The final score of the match was 7-3 in favor of Smith.
Bell flipped his attention towards the consolation preliminary rounds where he would then take on Sloan Welch, a junior from the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire. Bell again opened his bout with a take down to score three points in the first period. Welch then scored on a reversal and a Bell penalty to tie the match at the end of the first.
