How It Happened:
The Hornets stung the Scots early and often in the first half with Kearsten Schultz scoring in the 6th minute to open the scoring before KZOO's Ruby Hogan took over the match by delivering three consecutive goals in the 13th, 35th, and 42nd minutes with back-to-back assists coming via Maeve Nolan.
Emily Ahearn broke a two-and-a-half game goal drought by breaking through off the pass from
Mckenzie Keck to give the offense some juice at the 47:32 mark. Unfortunately for the Alma XI, Kalamazoo notched the final three goals of the day courtesy of Sydney DeKuiper, Kate Klahorst, and Ali Langlois, respectively.
The shot tally was not overly lopsided with the Orange and Black taking 19 to AC's ten, where the discrepancy lied was the on-target attempts in which the visitors' accuracy proved to be a difference maker at 14-2.
Scots' Top Performers:
Ahearn's goal recorded was her 13th in Maroon and Teal, giving her an even 30 points as a Scot, the third score of 2026 for the junior.
Keck put her first dent in the assist tally as a collegian,
Kaitlyn Panosso placed the only other shot-on-goal for Alma,
Grace Sczepanski logged the lone multi-shot outing of the afternoon (2), and
Mya Pofahl made seven saves to commence the notables.
