Women's Lacrosse Closes 2025 Season at Albion

Albion, MI – Alma College Women's Lacrosse traveled to Albion College for their 2025 season finale on Tuesday evening. An Alma comeback stalled out, with the Scots falling 19-11.
 
It took nearly half of the first quarter for the game's first goal to be scored, with Briar Mackey finding the back of the net to get Alma on the board with 8:57 to play in the first. Albion was able to answer nearly two minutes later, with the Briton offense scoring seven straight. Alma trailed 7-1 after one quarter.

The defenses settled in as the second quarter wore on. Mackey scored again under a minute in to close the gap to five goals, but Albion answered immediately. Mackey's third of the game at the 9:40 mark was followed by a Riliegh McGeorge tally at 6:36. Although Albion was able to score one more in the period, Sarah Bollinger put a shot home with under a minute to play in the half. The Scots trailed 9-5 at the break.

Another goal from Bollinger a little over two minutes into the third quarter pulled Alma to within three goals at 9-6. The Brits clapped back, but Mackey's fourth of the evening saw the Scots trailing 10-7. The hosts would find the back of the net three more times before the end of the third, and Alma was down 13-7 after three.

The home side scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter, putting Albion up 16-7. MaKayla Kozal scored at the 7:01 mark, and Bollinger was able to net two more goals, getting Alma to with seven at 17-10. After two more Briton goals, Joanna Scorziello rounded out the scoring with a goal at 1:02, bringing the scoreboard to the final of 19-11.

Bollinger and Mackey each tallied four goals in the loss. Scorziello led the Scots with three caused turnovers. Cassidy Smith made 12 saves in goal.

Alma closes out the 2025 season at 4-9, and looks forward to 2026.
