ALBION, Mich. - The Alma College Men's Basketball team put together a solid late-game effort, but ultimately fell to Albion 87-63, on Saturday afternoon at Kresge Gymnasium. Despite a tough first half, the Scots showed resilience with a much-improved offensive output in the second half.
Alma started the game with an early basket from
Logan St. Martin, but Albion would respond with a 12-4 run to take control. The Scots struggled offensively in the first half, tallying just 20 points at the break. However, in the second half, Alma's offense fount its rhythm, outscoring their first-half total by 23 points. A late push led by Josh Elliot and
Donovan Collins helped the Scots close the gap, but Albion's consistent scoring down the stretch kept the game out of reach.
For the Scots,
Logan St. Martin led the team in both points and rebounds with 13 and 6.
Josh Elliott contributed 11 points, including a key three-pointer during Alma's second-half surge.
Donovan Collins added 10 points while knocking down three shots from behind the arc.
Seth Bradford provided a boost off the bench with 6 points, all from three-point range.
The Scots will look to bounce back as they return home for their next matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Wednesday night as Alma takes on Calvin University. The team hopes to build on their strong second-half performance and take it into the next game.
