University Heights, OH – Alma College Women's Basketball continued at the Winking Lizard Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. Alma was defeated by Lebanon Valley, 66-61.
 
The teams were more than evenly matched, with neither side able to eek out more than a one possession lead in the opening quarter. The teams changed leads and were in a number of tie game situations. The game was tied 10-10 halfway through the quarter, but Lebanon Valley was leading 22-19 at the end of the first. At 8:13 to go in the second quarter, the opposition found the first two-possession lead of the game at 25-21. Alma battled back to a 26-26 tie, with the game level at 32-32 at halftime.

The Scots took the lead out of the half at 34-32, going on to lead 38-35, only for Lebanon Valley to retake the lead at 39-38 halfway through the period. LVU managed a seven-point lead, and held on, going into the fourth quarter up 50-45. Alma trailed by nine after a 7-3 LVU run to open the final period. The lead was as high as 11 until a furious Alma run cut it down to two. Despite their best efforts, Alma was unable to close the gap, falling 66-61.

Cadence Kaminske led the way with 16 points and a pair of steals. Breckyn Werner had 10 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, and Kate Starkey had nine points with four rebounds. Sarah Ebel led the team in rebounding with nine boards.

Alma is back in action on Friday at the Wheaton Tournament, taking on Simpson College at 6:00 PM EST.
