Adrian, MI – Alma College Football traveled to Adrian College to close out the regular season on Saturday. The Scots were victorious by a final of 31-7.
The Scots opening drive yielded points in the form of a Josh Hernandez chip shot from 27 yards out to put Alma up 3-0. Adrian scored on the ensuing drive to take the lead, and Alma took that lead back for good with a
Jordan Williams 7-yard touchdown run with 4:07 to play in the opening quarter. Alma led 10-7 after the first.
Moving into the second quarter, it was all Alma until the end of the game. The Scots tacked on a pair of
Zach Poff touchdowns from 17 and 3 yards out to push the lead to 24-7. The second half brought out just one scoring play, a third quarter rushing touchdown from 1-yard out by
Davin Reif that capped the scoring at 31-7.
Carter St. John was 16-24 for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win, and
Jordan Williams led all rushers with 82 yards and a score.
Zach Poff hauled in 10 passes for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Defensively,
Ryan Kugelman led the way with 9 total tackles, also forcing a fumble. Sacks were provided by
Jerome Roberson and
Tyler Walters.
Jett King recovered the fumble, and totaled 7 tackles. Mar'Sean Massenberg snagged his first career interception in the victory.
The Scots end the 2024 season at 8-2, and look to build into 2025.
