Albion, MI – Alma College Volleyball opened postseason play on Tuesday night against Albion College in the MIAA Tournament. Alma returned to the postseason for the first time since 2020 in the sport of volleyball. Playing in the opening round of the tournament, the 6-seed Scots were defeated by the 3-seed Britons in straight sets.
Albion took the opening set by a score of 25-15. The Britons outkilled Alma 14-5 in the set, as the Scots offense was limited early on. The hosts would claim the second and third sets by finals of 25-17. The Scots were outkilled 39-19 in the game, and managed a .035 hitting clip. Alma won the battle at the net, outblocking Albion 8-5.
Reagan Thorr led the Scots offense with 7 kills,
Nevea Bush picked up 5 kills and 4 digs, and
Callie Smith recorded 2 kills, an ace, and 5 assisted blocks.
Olivia Deeb netted 8 assists, and
Vicky Villarosa came in with 6. Villarosa also led the Scots in digs with 11.
Alma ends the season at 7-22, and will look to build heading into 2025.
