Alma, MI – Alma College Men's Soccer wrapped up non-conference play and secured a 2-0 victory over Kuper College on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Scotland Yard. A pair of first half goals from Ethan Swartzentruber and Christian Sweis propelled the Scots to their eighth win of the season and extend their unbeaten streak to eight consecutive matches.

Alma came out strong, dominating the game in all aspects. The eventual game winning goal came quickly when Ethan Swartzentruber connected on a strong volley and found the back of the net. The goal was assisted via a cross from JJ Riggsby and a through ball from Nhan Luu Trong Huang. The Scots kept up the pressure, and just over 20 minutes later, Christian Sweis boomed a freekick into the top right corner from 28 yards out, doubling the Alma lead.

The Scots were very strong offensively, pinning the Cougars in their defensive half for the entirety of the match. With Alma's heavy possession of the ball, Kuyper struggled to find rhythm against Alma's solid defense. The visitors managed seven shots, none of which were on target. Alma's goalkeeper, Bradshaw Uhlmann, remained untested and earned a clean sheet in net. The Scots however created 15 shots with 6 being on target.

The Scots improve to 8-2-1 on the season and look forward to opening MIAA conference play this Wednesday, October 9th as they travel to Kalamazoo College to take on the Hornets at 7 pm.
