Box Score Alma, MI – Women's Basketball hosted Olivet College in the Be Like Tye game on Saturday. The Scots were victorious in their regular season finale by a final of 85-63.
Both teams honored late Alma College Alumnus Tyler Edwards with a moment of silence pregame. Alma also honored their 3 seniors Maddie Robbins, Kendall Griffioen, and Malorie Rzepka during a pregame ceremony.
The offense got started early for the Scots. Alma posted a 23-point first quarter and led by 6, increasing their lead to 10 at the half. The Comets didn't go way, pulling to within single digits before Alma was able to turn it on and pull away. The Scots scored 44 second half points, and pulled out a gap to a final of 85-63.
Taylor Sas led all scorers with 24 points in the win. She now stands just 20 points shy of 1000 in her career heading into postseason play. Maddie Robbins also scored 12 points while dishing a game high 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Izzy Alston also scored 12 points, and Breckyn Werner scored 13 off the bench. The leading rebounder for Alma was Brooke LeRoux. She grabbed 6 boards while scoring 9 points.
The Scots finish up the regular season at 10-15, with an 8-8 mark in MIAA play. The Scots have wrapped up the 5th seed in the MIAA Tournament, and will travel to 4 seed Albion for first round action next week.
