Women's Soccer Records Draw Against Albion

ALMA, Mich. – The Alma College women's soccer team recorded their first draw of the season against MIAA rival Albion College on Saturday, October 7th at Scotland Yard. The Scots and the Britons finished the full 90 at a deadlock of 0-0.

Albion opened up the game with some early pressure that led to some early saves by Allison Bush before Alma countered with their own offensive presence putting shots towards the net. The Scots had some early looks coming off of corner kicks just ten minutes into the game. The Scots would find themselves in a back and forth contest the rest of the first half as both teams were limited in their offensive halves.

The second half saw both teams put up several shots aside early both neither team was able to "break the ice." The first 15 minutes of the half saw a total of seven shots between the two teams with each goalkeeper recording a save. Alma kept the Britons offensive presence to a minimum only allowing two corner kicks for the opponent in the second half.

Individually for Alma, Paige Kohler led the team with three shots in the contest while tying Briana Scillion with one shot on goal for the team lead. Bush recorded her first draw of the season while also notching her first shutout of the 2023 campaign.

Alma will now continue along with MIAA conference play as they will play host to Hope College on Tuesday, October 10th. Game time is set to begin at 4:00 PM at Scotland Yard.
