ALBION, Mich. – The Alma College men's basketball team faced off against conference foe Albion College on Wednesday, January 25. The Scots were taken down by the Britons by a final score of 87-69.

The Britons got on the board first with two baskets before Alma knocked down their first points. The Scots struggled on offense early which gave way for Albion to jump out to an early lead. In the middle of the first half, Alma started to chip away at the Briton lead by converting on consecutive offensive looks while limiting Albion's chances on the defensive side of the court. The Scots would go on a 6-0 run to end the first half, four of which came from Tyshaun Walker, to end the first frame down 46-34.

Coming out of the half, Albion continued their offensive presence and forced the Scots to play catch-up as they tried to extend their lead. Landen Moore-Pierce used his offensive presence from last game to help lead the Scots offensively throughout the second half. The Scots were able to string together several small runs late in the second half, but time was against Alma. Albion shots over 50% from the field and also over 50% from downtown to test the Alma defense throughout the game. 

Moore-Pierce led the Scots in scoring for the contest recording 17 points, while Walker followed behind with 15. Walker also brought in six rebounds to lead the team and Moore-Pierce continued to find open teammates to record four assists. Moore-Pierce also snagged four steals in the contest. Alma's pressure got to the Britons as they forced 21 turnovers total throughout the game.

Alma will be back at home this weekend as they host Kalamazoo College on National Girls and Women is Sport Day, after the women's game. Make sure to catch both games as the women tip-off at 1:00 p.m. and the men tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
