Mt. Pleasant, MI – Alma College Track and Field traveled up US-127 on Saturday to take part in the Jack Skoog Open hosted by Central Michigan University. The Scots had a number of outstanding finishes for a group that took another big step forward.

On the women's side, Ericka Bigham took home victory in the 400 meters, outrunning Division I and Division II competition to take the win by nearly a full second. Alma also landed spots 4-7 in the 400. Those spots were occupied by Victoria Gotaas, Victoria Hatton, Jordan Fox, and Reagan Keyser. Caleigh Winters took 3^rd in the 3000 meter run, and was followed up by fellow Scots Rachel Whitt and Mariella Cusack in 4^th and 5^th. In the 60 meter hurdles, Andrea Taghon took home 2^nd, with Jenna Belmas and Allison Wichert both under a second behind her in 4^th and 5^th.

In the field events, Helena Snyder took 2^nd in the high jump, and was joined by Reagan Keyser on the podium in 3^rd. Mya Scott finished in a tie for 2^nd in the pole vault.

One the men's side, Chandler Holloway took home 2^nd in the 60 meter dash, followed by Devin Rice in 3^rd. Rice and Hollway would both go on to podium again in the 200 meter dash. Rice took the win, Holloway was third, and Jordan Maxima was 2^nd as Alma swept the top 3 spots, also picking up 4^th courtesy of Landon Jennings. Ross McNeel continued the winning for Alma taking the top slot in the 400 meters. In the distance events, Braxton Lamey claimed 2^nd place to land on the podium as well.

In the field events, Ed Markarian and Joseph Gonzales landed in the top 3 of the long jump, with Markarian 2^nd and Gonzales 3^rd. The pair of jumpers also took the top 2 slots in the triple jump, with Markarian 1^st and Gonzales 2^nd.

The Scots will be back in action at the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invitational on Friday.
