Box Score ALMA, Mich.— The Alma College Women's Basketball team on Saturday, Feb. 5, against No. 2-ranked Trine University in its annual "Pink Game," held to support the Angel Wings Founrdation. The Thunder finished with the win at 83-56 over the Scots to put Alma at 5-6 in MIAA play.
Alma scored the first six points of the game and continued a 10-2 lead halfway through the first quarter. Trine found their footing to climb to a 17-12 lead at the start of the second quarter. Alma was in reach of the game with a three-point deficit at 18-15, but Trine ended the half at 38-20 and continued its lead in the second half of play. Trine eventually won, 83-56.
Olivia Warren led the Scots with 18 points and Oretha Humphries followed close behind with 16. Maddie Robbins added six points, eight rebounds and two assists. Kendall Griffioen posted two blocks.
This contest was played in honor of former Alma College Women's Basketball coach Keisha Brown, who founded the Angel Wings Foundation after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. Donations were collected and t-shirts were sold at Saturday's contest and all proceeds went to the Angel Wings Foundation.
