UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Alma College track and field teams had one final tune-up before the MIAA Championship meet when they competed at Saginaw Valley State University Friday night (Feb. 18).
In the women's 400-meter dash, Ericka Bigham took second with a time of 58.09 seconds. Jenna Belmas made the 60-meter hurdle final and finished eighth in 10.79 seconds. Caleigh Winters ran a time of 5:50.02 in the mile race.
The women's 800-meter run saw Cornelia Gotaas place ninth with a time of 2:25.58.
On the men's side, Anthony Spears took sixth in 7.36 seconds. Joey Gonzales competed in the triple jump and posted a mark of 11.74 meters.
Andersen Strand took ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.70 seconds.

"We had some nice breakout performances tonight. Not only does it help us heading into next week, but it also helped us build some confidence in how we need to approach our events. It's going to be exciting to see how we perform next week and into the outdoor season. Go Scots!"
