Box Score ALBION, Mich. — The Alma College men's basketball team traveled south to take on conference foe Albion College on Saturday, Feb. 12, and came away victorious, 84-57.
The Scots started off hot, led by Cole Kleiver, who tallied 11 points in the first six minutes of play. The Scots continued to click offensively and soon created a 15-point lead, eventually going into halftime up, 39-27.
Coming out of halftime, the Scots picked up where they left off, converting on their offensive chances once again. Just five minutes into the second half, the Scots pushed their lead to 20. The Scots' largest lead of the game came with just under two minutes remaining, when they extended their lead to 31 points.
Kleiver led Scots on offense with 27 points while shooting 55 percent from beyond the arc. Landen Moore-Pierce dished out a team-high eight assists while Xavier Bargesser collected a team-high seven rebounds. Both of Alma's centers found the basket early and often, as Jack Poling tallied 12 points, while Brandon Rake scored 10. The Scots shot an overall 54 percent throughout the game and 43 percent from deep.
The Scots next game is on Wednesday, Feb. 16, when they take on Adrian College. This will be Alma's senior night to highlight the seven seniors graduating this spring. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Art Smith Arena.
