Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. — The Alma College Women's Basketball team traveled to Adrian College on Monday, Jan. 31, for a rescheduled conference matchup. The Scots beat the Bulldogs, 67-57, and improved to 5-4 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.
Despite the 13-0 lead from the Bulldogs right off the bat, Alma fired back with a seven point stretch to find themselves within reach of Adrian at the end of the first quarter, 16-9.
For the most of the second quarter, Alma trailed behind the Bulldogs. Within the final minute of the half, Alma gained their first lead of the game at 26-24, but Adrian ended the half with a tie at 26-26.
In the second half of play, Alma gained momentum offensively and pulled ahead of the Bulldogs in the third and fourth quarter, to end the game at 67-57.
Four Scots scored double digits on the night. Maddie Robbins and Oretha Humphries each tallied 14 points, Taylor Sas had 12, and Olivia Warren added 11. Sas also added 10 rebounds and Kendall Griffieon posted three blocks.
"I am really proud of how we continued to fight all game. Multiple players stepped up when we needed them to. Road wins are never easy, but we found a way," Head Coach Sami Stormont said.
Next, Alma heads to Calvin University on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
