Scots beat Kalamazoo; Sas leads Alma with 19 points

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Alma College Women's Basketball team traveled to Kalamazoo College on Saturday, Jan. 29. The Scots finished ahead at 68-51 to improve 4-4 in MIAA play. 

Alma started the game off by doubling Kalamazoo's points in the first quarter at 20-9. The Hornets fought their way back into the contest only trailing three behind at the half, 27-24. Alma took offensive control and added 29 points to the board to Kalamazoo's 10 in the third quarter. The Hornets out-shot the Scots in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to grab the win.  

Taylor Sas led the Scots with 19 points and is currently ranked second in the MIAA with an average of 15.8 points per game. Sas also added six defensive rebounds on the day. Malorie Rzepka followed behind Sas with 12 points and four assists.  

Next, Alma heads to Adrian College on Monday, Jan. 31 for their next conference match-up.
