ALMA, Mich. – The Alma College men's basketball team was back in action on Saturday, as they faced off against MIAA opponent Calvin University. The Scots fell to the Knights, 88-52. The Scots would battle hard an exchange the lead several times with the Knights in the opening minutes. Calvin would then begin to extend their lead through the remainder of the half and take a 48-24 lead into halftime over Alma. Coming out of the half, Calvin's offense would pick up right where they left off and continue to outscore the Scots for the remainder of the game. Calvin improves to 1-1 in MIAA play, while the Scots will fall to 0-1. Xavier Bargesser led the Scots in points with 15, as Isaiah Williamson followed behind with 11. Brandon Rake led Alma in rebounds with eight, while three came offensively. Landen Moore-Pierce would tally three assists to lead the Scots respectively. The Scots will be back in action on Monday, January 10th, when they take on Kalamazoo College in Art Smith Arena.
