ALMA, Mich. - The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship finished Friday on the campus of Alma College. The Scots placed fifth in the women's team rankings while the men took home seventh place.
Mariah Dunkin and Charley Hengesbach went 2-3 in the discuss throw with Dunkin tossing it 36.57 meters and Hengesbach throwing it 35.88 meters.
Jacob Wildenhaus finished second in the 110 meter hurdles by running it in 15.33 seconds. Vernonell Smith Jr. took seventh in the race with a time of 17.27 seconds.
Audrey Padilla grabbed third place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.83 after having the sixth-best time in the preliminaries.
Stephanie Davis earned third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.88. Andrea Taghon took sixth in the race with a time of 1:15.41.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Padilla, Taghon, Grace Hearth, and Victoria Austin posted a fifth-place finish with a time of 4:21.12.
Hearth also took seventh in triple jump with a leap of 9.73 meters.
Alma could potentially have student-athletes qualify for regionals that will take place later this month.
