ALMA, Mich.- The Alma College track and field teams opened the MIAA Outdoor Championships at Bahlke Field on Thursday (May 6). This is the first time the Scots have hosted the meet since 2014. In the team standings, the women sit in 7th place while the men are in 6th place.
Nolan Rowland claimed the MIAA title in the men's pole vault, with a jump of 4.10 meters. In the women's hammer throw, Charley Hengesbach finished in sixth with a toss of 40.12 meters. Grace Hearth took eighth in the women's high jump with a jump of 1.47 meters. Hengesbach would add to the point total for the women with a third place finish in the shotput with a toss of 11.45 meters. Mariah Dunkin would place eighth in the women's shotput with a toss of 10.78 meters.
Alma will conclude the MIAA Championships tomorrow (May 7). Action at Bahlke Field begins at 10:00 a.m.
