Box Score ANGOLA, Mich. – The Alma College men's basketball team lost, 92-53, in the MIAA Tournament first round at Trine University on Wednesday. Alma ends its 2021 season with an overall record of 2-12 while Trine, the number two-ranked team in the nation, remains undefeated on the year at 15-0.
The Scots got into an early hole with the deficit floating around 10 for most of the first half. At the break, the Scots trailed by 14.
Alma started the second half on a 6-2 run to make it an eight-point game, however, Trine went on long run to put the game out of reach.
Cole Kleiver led the team with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting while Isaiah Williamson added 10 points. Nate Deyman led the team with five rebounds and Alex King tallied a team-high four assists.
Alma's lone senior, Matt Lark, ends his career as a Scot. Lark appeared in 45 games during his career.
