OLIVET, Mich. – For the second-straight game, the Alma College men's basketball team came back from a late double-digit deficit to win the game. Tonight, the Scots took down Olivet College by a score of 84-81 at the Comets' Cutler Event Center. 

Alma, who was down 11 points with under seven minutes remaining, went on a 19-5 run to finish the game. The Scots are now 2-3 while the Comets fall to 0-9. 

The game was tied at 79 with less than 1:30 remaining. Cole Kleiver held the ball as Isaiah Williamson set a screen at the top of the key. Kleiver went around the screen and both defenders followed him, the junior passed the ball back to Williamson who fired up a 3-pointer and nailed it. The Scots were able to hold down the Comets the rest of the way and earn the win.

Williamson and Kleiver each scored 18 points for the Scots. Williamson added eight rebounds while Kleiver made a career-high 14 free throws on 16 attempts.

Five Alma players scored in double figures on the night. Brandon Rake scored 14 and grabbed nine rebounds. Nate Deyman netted a career-high 13 points. Xavier Bargesser also posted a career-high 11 points while Gabe Bourdeau picked up a game-high 11 rebounds.

"I guess we like to keep things interesting," Head Coach Ryan Clark said. "Just proud of the fight this team has shown and not giving up when shots aren't falling. We strung together stops when we needed to and kept staying aggresive. We were able to make some key plays defensively and gave ourselves the opportunity to knock down a big shot at the end."

The Scots will look for their third-straight victory when Adrian College comes to Art Smith Arena on Saturday (Feb 6) for a 3 p.m. start time.
