Box Score ALMA, MICH. The Alma College women's basketball team won against the Adrian College Bulldogs, 64-55. This was the fourth-straight win for the Scots, bringing their overall record to 8-6, and 3-3 in the MIAA. The Bulldogs drop down to 5-13, and 2-5 in conference.
Before the game started, the Scots honored their two seniors in Emily Long and Jeny Brandt.
After the senior ceremony, the Scots got off to a quick 4-0 start thanks to two free throws from Taylor Findlay after Adrian was assed a technical foul before tipoff. Alma then won the tip-off and immediately increased their lead to four with a layup from senior Brandt with an assist from Long.
From the first layup, the Scots kept the lead, never allowing the Bulldogs to overtake them. The leading scorers for Alma were Maddie Robbins (12), Jeny Brandt (11), and Taylor Findlay (10)
Maddie Robbins was not only the leading scorer, but also led the team in assists with eight. Jeny Brandt earned her second double-double in a row, with 11 points and 13 rebounds in the game. Everyone who touched the court for Alma, scored as least two points.
"Always great to get a win on senior night. I thought we continued to batter on the defensive end even when shots weren't falling," Head Coach Sami Stormont said. "I am so thankful for the time and effort Jen and Emily have put into the program. I'm really looking forward to taking on the tournament with this group. Go Scots!"
This was the last regular season game for Alma. They will next be seen in the MIAA championship tournament. The first round is scheduled for Monday, March 1st with the location and opponent to be determined.
