FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Alma College Women's Bowling team traveled to the American Heartland III for a single-day tournament. The Scots finished in second place on the day.
Alma started the tournament off strong, with a 1,032 game to give them first place status. By game five, the Scots found themselves in fourth place.
In the first four-game Baker set, Alma shot 660, 757 in the second, and 836 in the third to push them to second place overall.
Rachel Kuczaide led the team at second place for singles with a score of 1,083 after five games. Sarah Gadde followed close behind in fifth place with a total score of 1,006.
"What a great day," head coach Kyle Woodcock said. "With the team getting off to a great start and then struggling a bit to finish up our games heading into the Bakers, it was great to see the team to pull together to finish strong in the Bakers. Now we take a month-long break, but I can't wait to see this team excel in the second half of our season. We have really come together as a team in the past three tournaments."
When the Scots return on Saturday, Jan. 15, they will play in the ISBPA Midwest Collegiate.
