Box Score ALMA, Mich. — The Alma College Women's Basketball team competed in its first home game of the year on Monday, Nov. 22, against Capital University, and beat the Comets, 65-58.
Taylor Sas led the team with 15 points, four assists and eight rebounds. Stasha Warchock followed behind with 13 points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Kendall Griffioen notched 10 rebounds for the Scots.
"Oh, how nice it was to have a home game, and even better to get a win," said head coach Sami Stormont. "Having five players in double figures showed how well we moved the ball offensively and I loved how we competed defensively in the second half.
"We've had a tough stretch of games over these past two weeks," Stormont continued. "We've been tested and learned a lot about ourselves. We're looking forward to getting back to work."
Next, Alma heads to Transylvania University, in Lexington, Ky., where they will take on Piedmont University on Saturday, Nov. 27.
