ADRIAN, Mich. — The Alma College Wrestling team traveled to Adrian College to complete against University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday, Nov. 13. The Scots went 0-3 on the day.
Alma started the Adrian Duals against Stevens Point. Matt Tomsett at 149 took the only win of match one. The Scots fell to Stevens Point 47-3.
Next, Alma faced Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Tomsett took the only win for the Scots again, but the team fell short 47-2.
To finish the day, Alma took on Whitewater. Carter Hankins at 141 and Jayce Kuehnlein at 157 took two wins from match three. Whitewater finished on top 45-10.
"We faced some programs today that are in the exact position of where we want to be in terms of depth, experience, and development. I believe that we are headed in that very direction. But right now, they are ahead of us and it showed," head coach Todd Hibbs said.
"I was proud that our guys fought hard and asked for more and more matches on the day. Still, we know we have work to do to regularly compete on this level and we'll keep putting that work in."
Next, the Scots head to Olivet College on Saturday, Oct. 20 for the Olivet Duals.
