Albion, Mich.- The Alma College women's basketball team dropped its game against the Albion College Britons on Saturday (Jan. 30) 86-72. The Scots fall to 2-3 on the young season after the loss in a game that does not count towards the MIAA standings.
Despite the defeat, freshman Taylor Sas had a career high 26 points along with seven rebounds. Junior Stasha Warchock had 15 points and freshman Morgan Hanchett had 10 points.
The game was close to start, as Albion had a four point lead after the first quarter. But a strong second quarter by the Britons helped them take a 45-31 lead into the locker room. The Scots would not go away quietly, as they got to within nine points with under four minutes remaining in the game. However Albion was able to withstand the comeback and come away with the victory. Both teams shot just over 44 percent for the game.
Up next the Scots will host the Olivet Comets on Thursday (Feb. 4) at Art Smith Arena. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. and you can watch the game on the Alma College Athletics YouTube page.
