Scots Sink Brits in Home Opener

ALMA, Mich. – The Alma College women's basketball team defended their home court, winning over the Albion College Britons with final score coming in at 77-67. The Scots move to 2-1 on their season while Albion drops to 0-2. The game did not count toward the MIAA conference standings. 

The Scots led the entire contest, taking an early advantage and keeping the Britons at bay for the rest of the night. Albion sent the Scots to the free throw line 15 times in the final quarter, Alma made 12 of them, clinching the victory.

Taylor Findlay led the team in scoring for the second-straight game with 18 tonight while posting six rebounds. The sophomore made three 3-pointers and went 5-of-5 from the line. 

Jeny Brandt earned her first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Hanchett posted 16 points while Maddie Robbins added 11 and six rebounds after being named MIAA Athlete of the Week earlier in the day.

Taylor Sas got valuable time on the court with 24 minutes of gameplay. The freshman made the most of her time with seven points, five rebounds and two assists. 

Alma now prepares to host Hope College on Wednesday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m.
