Cole Kleiver (Williamston, Mich. / Williamston) poured in a career-high 36 points on 12-of-21 shooting and 7-of-13 from three.

The first half started off fast-paced. Both teams shot over 50 percent over the first ten minutes of the half, then started to cool off as halftime approached. Alma shot 40 percent in the first frame and trailed by eight at the break.
The opening few minutes of the second half were sloppy for the Scots. A quick 8-0 run by Trine forced an Alma timeout just over three minutes into the half. The Thunder opened up an 18-point lead halfway through the second.
From there, Alma started to stage a comeback. Sinke scored nine straight points for the Scots to help get them back to within 10 points with seven minutes left.
Alma was able to cut it to eight with 3:29 remaining after a layup from Steven Harvey (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern), but couldn't get any closer and ran out of time.
The Scots' next game is on Saturday (Feb. 8) against Albion. Alma lost to the conference-leading Britons earlier this season and will need to keep pace with Hope and Adrian for the league's final playoff spot.
