Grand Rapids – The Alma College men's basketball team battled against Calvin University but fell in an 87-76 loss on Saturday (Feb. 15) afternoon.

Senior Ryan Stevens (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell) continued his hot streak with a team-high 23 points on the day. Seniors Steven Harvey (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) and Zach Sinke (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) followed with 16 points each.

The Scots started off strong going on a 6-0 run in the first two minutes of the game, but the Knights battled back and went on a 14-2 scoring run. Alma tried to stick with Calvin but found themselves down by 12 at the end of the first half at 45-33.

In the second half, the Knights proved too much to handle for the Scots and maintained a 10-point lead through the majority of the second half.

The Scots will be back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at the Art Smith Arena against Hope College at 7:30 p.m.
