Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's basketball team shut down Adrian College 67-56 on Saturday (Jan. 25) evening.

Alma's scoring was evenly spread out. Stasha Warchock (Marquette, Mich. / Marquette) scored a team-high 11 points while Jeny Brandt (Escanaba, Mich. / Escanaba), Jackie Jarvis (Fowlerville, Mich. / Fowlerville) and Emily Eldridge (Battle Creek, Mich. / Battle Creek Lakeview) each added 10. Both Brandt and Madison Hill (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) pulled down seven rebounds.

The Scots found their groove in the second quarter, going 11-of-14 from the field. Warchock scored all of her points in this quarter. Alma led 37-21 at the half.

Alma continued to keep the pressure on in the third quarter. It forced Adrian (7-10, 1-7 MIAA) to shoot 2-of-21 from the field and allowed Alma to extend its lead to 21 entering the fourth.

The Scots forced 19 turnovers and scored 23 points off of them.

Alma remains at home for its next game. It will host Olivet College on Wednesday (Jan. 29) at Art Smith Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
