Box Score Holland, Mich. - The Alma College women's basketball team dropped a 71-33 decision to No. 3 Hope College on Wednesday (Jan. 22) evening.
Points were at a premium for the Scots (7-10, 2-6 MIAA) against the nation's best scoring defense; the Flying Dutch allow under 43 points per game.
Emily Eldridge (Battle Creek, Mich. / Battle Creek Lakeview) led the Scots with nine points and five rebounds. Jeny Brandt (Escanaba, Mich. / Escanaba) had three points, eight boards, one steal and one block. Hannah Syme (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) had a game-high three assists.
Hope (17-0, 8-0 MIAA) got out to a scorching start, missing only four of its 12 shots in the first quarter to take a 22 point lead. It never looked back.
The Scots return to Art Smith Arena to host Adrian College on Saturday (Jan. 25) at 7:00 p.m.
