Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's basketball team fell 82-61 to Calvin University on Wednesday (Jan. 22) evening.

Steven Harvey (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) was the only Alma player in double figures. He finished with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with three rebounds.

Ryan Stevens (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell), Brandon Rake (Whitehall, Mich. / Whitehall) and Isaiah Williamson (Sebewaing, Mich. / Unionville-Sebewaing Area) each scored eight points. Williamson and Rake each had four rebounds, while Stevens had four assists. He now has 490 in his career.

Calvin held the Scots to under 25 percent shooting from the field in the first half while scoring 43 points of their own. Derrick DeVries was nearly unstoppable, scoring 21 first-half points while grabbing seven rebounds. He finished with 28 points and nine boards.

Alma shot nearly 62 percent, but it was too little, too late. The Knights extended their lead to as much as 25 on their way to the win.

The Scots travel to Hope College on Saturday (Jan. 25) for a 3:00 p.m. game.
