Battle Creek, Mich. - The Alma College women's golf team finished its season on Saturday (Oct. 12). The Scots finished in sixth place as a team at the MIAA Fall Final from the Bedford Valley Golf Club. Saint Mary's won the event with a two-round score of 631, while the Scots finished with a team score of 706.
Individually the Scots were led by freshman Morgan Yates (Shepherd, Mich./Shepherd) with a two-round score of 169, and finishing tied for 14th place. Behind her was senior Jennifer Kowalczyk (Northville, Mich./Northville) with a score of 174. Kowalczyk finished her college career tied for 20th place. Sophomore Ava Gardiner (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) finished with a score of 180, finishing 32nd. Juniors Kirstyn Cotton (Midland, Mich./Midland) and Grace Grelak (Canton, Mich./Salem) finished the scoring for the Scots. Cotton shot 183 and tied for 36th. Grelak finished in 46th place, shooting 191.
This concludes the fall golf season for the Scots. They graduate two seniors, Kowalczyk and Olivia Benoit (Grosse Pointe, Mich./North High School).
