Women's Golf Ties for Fourth in Third MIAA Jamboree

Saugatuck, Mich. - The Alma College women's golf team tied for fourth place in the third Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Tuesday (Sept. 25) afternoon. The Scots shot a 338 (+50) and tied with Olivet College, finishing just one stroke behind third-place Calvin College. 

Alma sits in sixth place in the MIAA with an average score of 352. St. Mary's College was the winner of today's Jamboree and are first overall in the MIAA standings. 

How It Happened 

  • Senior Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lake Orion) led the Scots again this afternoon, placing seventh overall and shooting a 79 (+7), tying her career-best score. 
  • Kennedy Hilley (Lake Odessa, Mich. / Lakewood) also finished in the top ten overall, her score of 80 (+8) landing her in ninth place. 
  • Tying for 23rd place, freshman Ava Gardiner (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Adlai E. Stevenson) shot an 87 (+15). 
  • Jen Kowalczyk (Northville, Mich. / Northville) and Hannah Joslin (Linden, Mich. / Linden) had scores of 92 (+20) and 96 (+24), respectively. 

Up Next

The golfers will see action again in the fourth and final MIAA Jamboree on Saturday, September 29. Tee time is 1 p.m. at the Milham Park Golf Club in Kalamazoo.
