Granger, Ind. - The Alma College women's golf team finished fourth overall at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association NCAA Qualifier on Saturday (April 28) with a total of 375 strokes. Round three of the spring qualifier was hosted by first-place Saint Mary's at the Knollwood Country Club.
The Belles scored a 327, while Hope College took second with 364 and Olivet moved to fourth with 377 strokes.
Notables
- The Scots came up from a fourth-place finish on Friday to land two strokes ahead of the Olivet Comets in today's round.
- Kennedy Hilley (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) led the Scots with a fourth-place overall finish, scoring an 87 (+15). Three Saint Mary's golfers made up the top three at the end of the tournament.
- Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) tallied a 92 (+20) and tied for eighth place.
- In 15th and 16th overall for the Scots, Jennifer Kowalczyk and Hannah Joslin finished with scores of 96 and 100 strokes, respectively.
- Saint Mary's will advance to the 2018 Division III National Championship tournament, as the team with the lowest cumulative score during the MIAA qualifier.
This concludes the 2017-2018 season for the Scots. Their trip to the NCAA qualifier was their first since 2003.
