Saugatuck, Mich. - The Alma College women's golf team sits in fourth place after round one of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association NCAA Qualifier at the Ravines Golf Club on Friday (April 20) with a total score of 360 strokes.
Saint Mary's is in first place with 318 strokes, Olivet is in second with 338 strokes and Hope is in third with 340 strokes.
Kennedy Hilley (Lake Odessa, Mich. / Lakewood) shot an 85 and carded a 37 on the back nine for the Scots, the second lowest score on either the front or back nine from any player on the day. Katie Neiswender (Quincy, Ill. / Notre Dame) and Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lake Orion) each shot an 88; each also shot 41 on the back nine.
Notables
- Jennifer Kowalczyk (Northville, Mich. / Northville) and Hannah Joslyn (Linden, Mich. / Linden) posted scores of 98 and 103 respectively.
- Saint Mary's Taylor and Hunter Kehoe and Hope's Megan Klintworth were the only golfers to post a score under 80 on the day. Taylor Kehoe had the best round with a 74; Hunter Kehoe had a 77, Klintworth posted a 76.
What's Next
Alma plays the final two rounds of the MIAA NCAA Qualifier on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. Both rounds will take place at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.
