Box Score Holland, Mich. - The Alma College women's basketball team fell to No. 6 Hope College 75-31 on Saturday afternoon. Alma is now 2-19 overall and 1-11 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Hope is 20-1 and 11-1.
Emily Eldridge (Battle Creek, Mich. / Battle Creek Lakeview) led the Scots with eight points and seven rebounds. Jeny Brandt (Escanaba, Mich. / Escanaba) added four points and six boards off the bench.
Francesca Buchanan, Jess Moorman and Victoria Swift each posted 10 points for the Flying Dutch.
How It Happened
- Hope shot 58 percent from the field in the first quarter. Both Brandt and Emily Long (Dayton, Ohio / Arch Bishop Alter) each had four points in the first half as the Scots trailed going into the break.
- Both teams struggled from the field in the third quarter, going 6-of-30 from the field. Madison Hill (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) scored four of her five points in the frame. Hope went 5-of-12 in the fourth quarter but also went 10-of-12 from the field to close the game.
