Adrian, Mich. - The Alma College women's golf team finished in sixth place out of nine teams at the fourth MIAA Jamboree on Saturday (Sept. 30). Senior Katie Neiswender led the Scots today for the first time this season with her score of 85 and tie for eighth place.
The Scots remain in fourth place in the conference standings, 40 strokes ahead of fifth place Trine and 34 strokes behind third place Olivet entering the final weekend of the regular season.
What Happened
- Junior Kennedy Hilley (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) finished in second place, four strokes behind Neiswender in a tie for 17th place and a score of 89.
- In third for the Scots and an overall tie for 21st, junior Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) scored a 92.
- Junior Hannah Joslin (Linden, Mich./Linden) tallied 95 strokes, tying for 30th place overall. In 36th place, sophomore Jennifer Kowalczyk (Northville, Mich./Northville) scored a 98.
Notables
- The Scots finished two strokes ahead of seventh place Albion College.
What's Next
The Scots will play in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Fall Finale next Friday (Oct. 6) in Battle Creek. Tee-off at the Bedford Valley Country Club is at 1:00 p.m.
