Marshall, Mich. - The Alma College women's golf team came in fourth place at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree held at the Medalist Golf Club, ending the day with a score of 347 (+59). The Scots finished ahead of five other MIAA participating teams, with junior Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) leading the team with a sixth place overall score of 81 (+9).
What Happened
- Junior Kennedy Hilley (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) finished second for the Scots and 10th overall with a score of 85 (+13).
- Improving from last week's Scottie Invitational, sophomore Jennifer Kowalczyk (Northville, Mich./Northville) and junior Hannah Joslin (Linden Mich./Linden) finished with ties for 20th and 25th place, with scores of 90 (+18) and 91 (+19).
- Rounding out the team with a 42nd place finish was senior Katie Neiswender (Quincy, Ill./Notre Dame), scoring a 102 (+30).

Notables
- Two Scots, Basso and Hilley, finished in the overall top 10 of the tournament.
- Three golfers saw improvement today, with Basso taking eight strokes off her game, Kowalczyk six, and Joslin one.
- This is Basso's first showing this season coming in first place for the Scots; previously she's held the number two spot for the team in the first two tournaments. She was five strokes away from the first place overall score from Hope College's Megan Klintworth.
What's Next
The Scots will return to action on Saturday (Sept. 23) at the second MIAA Jamboree at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. Tee-off is scheduled for 1:00 a.m.
