Fort Wayne, Ind. - Senior Trent Hullett (Jackson, Mich./Parma Western) punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships on Saturday (Feb. 25), placing third in the 184-pound bracket at the NCAA III Midwest Regionals, held at the War Memorial Coliseum.

"Trent wrestled like we knew he could wrestle all year long," Head Coach Jeremiah Tobias said. "He went out and wrestled with confidence and with a mission of qualifying for nationals." 

Hullet suffered a pinfall defeat to open the day early in the second period of the semifinal match to Wisconsin-Whitewater's Jordan Newman, the top-ranked wrestler at 184 pounds.

Hullet responded with a pair of wins in the consolation bracket, scoring a 9-5 decision over Otterbein's Corbin Bunsold to advance to the third-place match, where he defeated Wabash's Myron Howard, 7-1.

The NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, in LaCrosse, Wis.
