Fort Wayne, Ind. - Senior Trent Hullett (Jackson, Mich./Parma Western) won both of his matches and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals, which started today (Friday, Feb. 24) at Fort Wayne's War Memorial Coliseum.

Hullett will face Jordan Newman of Wisconsin-Whitewater tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 25) in the semifinals. Newman is the top-ranked wrestler in the nation at 184 pounds, according to d3wrestle.com. The top three wrestlers from each weight class advance to the NCAA III Championships in LaCrosse, Wis.

Hullett started his day with a major decision over Ohio Northern's Alex Bair, then followed up with a pin of Elmhurst's Shawn Swiderek 46 seconds into the second period of the quarterfinal match.

No other Alma wrestlers advanced to tomorrow's matches.
