Box Score Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's basketball team had its two game winning streak snapped by Albion 74-65 on Wednesday night. Kelsey Wolffis (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) scored a team-high 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked six shots. Kaitlyn Kendall (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) tallied 12 points and seven boards while Hannah Thelen (Pewamo, Mich./Pewamo-Westphalia) scored 13 and pulled down five rebounds.
Alma (4-10, 3-3 MIAA) trailed 38-33 at the half and got to within one in the early stages of the third quarter but were not able to take the lead. The Britons (11-3, 4-2 MIAA) opened up a 14 point lead by the end of the quarter en route to the win.
The Scots kept the score close through the first 12 minutes, leading in the opening four minutes and trailing by four after one quarter. For the game, Alma forced 11 turnovers and scored 28 points in the paint.
With her six blocks, Wolffis moves closer to becoming the program's top shot blocker all-time. She now has 103 in her career, two behind leader Tammy Feenstra. Tara Padgett (Freeland, Mich./Freeland) made two steals, giving her 140 in her career, four behind Katey Peacock and Mallory Pruett who share seventh place all-time.
Alma returns to action this Saturday at Trine at 1:00 p.m. The Thunder are tied for first in the MIAA at 6-0 and are 13-1 overall.
