Tiffin, Ohio - The Alma College wrestling team took on Heidelberg University Friday (Dec. 9) night in non-conference action, falling by a 40-7 margin. The Student Princes improved to 3-2 for the season, while the Scots are now 5-5 in dual meets.
Alma opened the dual with a victory at 125 pounds after junior Aaron Parr-Besemer scored an 11-9 decision over Mason Brainard.
After Heidelberg took points at 133, 141, 149, 157 and 165 pounds, junior Taylor McPhail (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) scored his third major decision of the season, triumphing over Darren Decker by a 14-6 margin in the 174-pound match. McPhail also improved his record to 13-1 with the win.
Heidelberg posted wins at 184, 197 and 285 pounds to close out the match.
The Scots have a week off before traveling to Lexington, Va., to participate in the Washington & Lee Duals on Monday, Dec. 19.
