Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Alma College women's basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon with a 76-64 win at Kalamazoo. Hannah Thelen (Pewamo, Mich./Pewamo-Westphalia) and Skylr Goodman (Standish, Mich./Standish Sterling Central) each posted double-doubles with 12 points and 10 rebounds. They are the first double-doubles recorded by a Scot this season. Goodman also led the team with five assists. Five Scots scored in double-figures led by freshman Madison Hill (Midland, Mich./Bullock Creek) with 15.

After trailing for the first 15 minutes of the game, Alma went on a 6-0 run to take a 26-25 lead. It closed the half on a 13-4 run to take a 39-32 lead after 20 minutes.

The Scots opened up an 11 point lead on a three-pointer by Thelen halfway through the third quarter. After Kalamazoo cut Alma's lead to four with 6:56 remaining, the Scots scored three straight field goals to open its lead back up to ten.

Alma would close out the game with a 12-3 run in the closing minutes where it took its biggest lead of 14 points. Kaitlyn Kendall (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) and Kelsey Wolffis (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) each posted four points during the run. Wolffis ended the game with 11 points and eight rebounds while Kendall finished with eight points. Tara Padgett (Freeland, Mich./Freeland) notched five steals to add to her all-time total of 127. She is third in the MIAA with 2.1 steals per game.

The Scots return to action on Tuesday, December 20 in the two-day Wilmington Classic Tournament.
