Box Score Notre Dame, Ind. - The Alma College women's basketball team had their fifth consecutive game on the road tonight (Dec. 9) in Notre Dame, Ind. at Saint Mary's College in their second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game of the 2015-16 campaign. Alma fell to Saint Mary's 68-56 and now stands at 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the MIAA. Saint Mary's improved to 1-8 and 1-1 in the MIAA.
Alma spotted the largest lead of the first quarter, 10-6 after senior Kassidi Adams (Montrose, Mich./Montrose) put in a lay up with 6:32 left to play. Saint Mary's cut the lead and went in to the second quarter with the 16-15 lead.
Saint Mary's saw their opportunity shortly in to the second quarter when Gabby Diamond gave the Belle's the 20-19 lead at the 7:47 mark. Saint Mary's never looked back giving them the 38-25 advantage going in to halftime.
Freshman Kelsey Wolffis (Muskegon, Mich.) and sophomore Chloee King (Standish, Mich./Standish Sterling) started it off for the Scots in the third quarter and Alma went on a tear outscoring the Belle's 15-10 to cut Saint Marys' lead, 48-40. Unfortunately the Belle's pulled away in the fourth quarter taking their largest lead of the game 59-50 after a made shot from the charity line by Belle's player Erin Maloney. The Scots could not fight back and fell to Saint Mary's 68-56 in the winding down minutes of the ball game.
Wolffis led the team with 15 points and tied her career best, the last coming against the College of Wooster last month. Senior Raeanna Zink (Frankenmuth, Mich./Frankenmuth) posted her fourth career game in double digit rebounding, leading the team with 10. Senior Kassidi Adams (Montrose, Mich./Montrose) added team high three assists to the Scots total of 10. Alma shot 42.2 percent from field goal range but only held their opponents to 46.7 percent.
Alma has concluded their five game road stretch and will host #7 Hope College on Saturday (Dec. 12) at Alma College in the Art Smith Arena. The game time is slated for 3:00 p.m. while the junior varsity team plays Hope College before at 12:45 p.m.

- Kelsey Wolffis finished with two blocks making it her fifth out of six games with at least one recorded block.
